1987 PRS Pre-Factory Custom 24
Here is a rare handmade high-end instrument from the „Pre Factory“ production, which was created in the small studio of Paul Reed Smith.
The Custom 24 model with 10 top/high quilt maple top and stunning grain and finish in „Scarlet Red“ transparent translucent hue.
With Bird Inlays, detuned Syncro Tremolo, 5-way Rotary Switch and Sweet Switch, these new features came out with this model.
Whether single coil Strat sounds or Gibson Humbucker sounds that make super sounding funky, blues, rock or heavy sound easily, anything goes here. A real „all-rounder
The fingerboard here is still Rio rosewood and of course comes with the appropriate CITES document.
Paul had bought the Gibson neck machine from the old Gibson factory and so these instruments have the same neck profile as Gibson solid body guitars.

The guitar has received 2 new original PRS pots and Amber knobs over the 33 years.
The tuners are not stamped PRS but Schaller. There is a small overspray on the back of the base (buckle wear).
